I'm in love with my latest FOs...

These are San Francisco Purses made from Felici Sport by Knit Picks (who else? ;)

I like both, but the more subtle striping of the Boutique colorway (left) came out real nice. I do love the bolder Groovy color (right) as well, though!

They are pretty small (small scissors for size reference), but the pattern is meant to be a little girl's purse, so they are perfect for that. I don't have recipients in mind, so these will go in the FO box to be either used as gifts or taken to a craft show to be sold.

I have been working on the Cap Sleeve Lattice Top on and off, but have set it aside to work on a Genesis Crescent Shaped Lace Shawlette or Scarf (a real mouthful!) for my mother-in-law's birthday. I came across the pattern the other day when it was being offered for free and instantly knew that I had to make it for Mom... she's deeply religious and always admires my knitting, so this is perfect. I ordered some KP Cotlin (in Celery) and cast on for it yesterday. It will be my travel knitting next week... Arthur and I are going to Georgia! My parents are flying us down to visit for a week; I'm super excited :) Unfortunately, Charlie can't go because of work, so we will miss him a lot (Oh, and he started his fulltime position tonight!!! Yay for steady paychecks!!!)

Today was our 2nd wedding anniversary and it was nice. Way better than last year's... he was away on a mission and we were states apart! He had to work last night and tonight, so we didn't have too much time to spend together, but we did get treated to a nice lunch by my FIL and sMIL and then did a quick run to Walmart for a few essentials. He went to sleep after that and Arthur and I hung out at the mall playground. A good day, though it would've been tons better if he didn't have to work. Maybe next year!

Adult cake

Baby cake

Doljabee, the Korean tradition of letting the baby pick their future at their first birthday party. Items are placed before him and what he grabs first symbolizes his future... knife = warrior, book = scholar, spool of thread = longevity, and money = riches. Daddy wanted him to grab the knife, but he immediate went for the thread! Good pick, little boy!

Macaroni and cheese pizza, his favorite.

Opening presents

Eating presents

Not even half the presents he got that day

Eating cake like a puppy (no hands!)

Daddy helping Arthur eat cake

My handsome little boy

Loaded in the car with all his birthday loot

The big present from Mommy and Daddy... a Lightning McQueen 4-wheeler! He figured out how to drive it immediately, but now wants to be a daredevil baby and STAND on the seat while driving. He likes to live life on the edge :)

Happy Birthday, Arthur!

Arthur turned 1 today! Happy birthday, little buddy!

We took him to the mall to play in their big fun play area. I kind of thought that he would be scared, unsocial, and clingy, but nope! He absolutely loved playing with the other kids and had a blast. He totally forgot about Mommy and Daddy.

It actually maybe kind of hurt my feelings a little bit, but in a good way. It was bittersweet... I loved watching him have fun, but it made me realize that he's growing up and is getting interested in things that aren't his parents. A good thing, but still a little sad for us.

He made a few friends, including one little boy (you can't really see him in the pic, he's the one in the white sweater directly in front of Arthur) who tried to talk to him a lot. Of course, Arthur didn't respond, but the kid had fun running and jumping, then coming back to Arthur to ask, "Hey, did you see that?!"

The big kids were hanging out and talking and poor little Arthur tried his hardest to keep up with them and hang out too. He would just go stand with them and listen. Cute, but I did feel a little sorry for him since he loved being with other kids and had to come home to a house where it's just him. Maybe he needs a brother... eventually ;)

I do plan on taking him back a few times a week for playtime and socializing.

I think he had a fun birthday. His party is Saturday (at Cici's Pizza) and I am looking forward to it. His Aunt Alicia and Uncle Ryan are making his little cake to get all messy with (they are professional chefs) and we ordered the bigger cookie cake today. I'll do a party to post to show all the fun and presents!

(Oh, and he started walking yesterday!)

Just a quick update on the spinning. I'm only able to spin at night after Arthur goes to bed, so it's going to take me a while to finish (not to mention the fact that it's wanting to spin up very fine). It's gorgeous and so smooth to spin!

Finally Finished and Finally Here

Took me almost a month, but Loxley is finished! I used a little more than a skein of Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool. Charlie will use it when he goes for his weekly D&D games (he's always the Dungeon Master and apparently is supposed to wear something). I think he looks like he belongs in a Monty Python film!

We went out today and came back home to my Woolie Bullie roving sitting on the porch! Gorgeous stuff... 100% merino in "Raw Turquoise." I got 12 ounces (really wanted the 16 that they had available, but this was a little high-dollar so I just got the 12). Time to settle down to a movie with the husband and the spinning wheel :)

Lotsa Projects

I've been having so much fun with my Inklette loom! The above is my first piece on it. It's just practice and I still haven't found a use for it yet (though Arthur did look pretty cute when I put it on him as a tie).

My second piece is a new pacifier leash for Arthur. His old one was getting kind of ratty (just a crocheted acrylic one) and this looks so much more professional. I love it! The ring is from a store-bought leash that broke and the clip is a suspender clip from the craft store.

My third project is a new leash for Barrett. I used Aunt Lydia's Fashion 3 crochet thread and it worked great. I really love how this turned out and it was so pretty all warped up on the loom. It's hard to tell in the pics, but there are 3 colors in the leash (cream, light yellow, and teal).

Though I neglected all knitting and crocheting for the 3 days after the loom arrived, I did start working on a few things again. I finally finished the Loxley scarf for Charlie (pics to come once he's home to model... he's at a 4-day drill right now) and also made a pair of Shoebeedo shoes for Arthur in Felici Sport (Too Cool). They are a little big for him, so I'm setting them aside and will make him another pair that fit.

This is the KP order I made... it's a dark pic, but from left to right starting at the top:

Stroll Tonal in Summer Blooms, Springtime, and Canopy - socks and/or baby sweaters
2 Imagination in Wild West - no plans yet, maybe a scarf/shawl for me
3 City Tweed DK in Rhubarb - girl cardi to sell
5 City Tweed DK in Porpoise - cardi for Arthur for this coming fall/winter

My fiber from etsy finally shipped yesterday! Took long enough. I can't wait for it to arrive!!!
